For her senior thesis, Lucy will be performing in a piece she wrote titled, “Nosegays.”
“Nosegays” is a play washed in violets, where a long lost lesbian affair seeps from the margins of history and petals into the present.
Media ultimately decides what is “normal” and what is “other,” and that “other” is dangerous, which is exactly what excites Lucy.
She keeps returning to plays once called obscene, plays that were pushed aside for portraying queer desire. That erasure still lingers. History repeats itself.
As a theatre-artist, Lucy refuses to be compliant. She strives to create and uplift work that is resilient.
